Interrail 2018 Day 5: Welcome to Wales!

It’s a pity we only had a couple of hours in Brighton. Since we didn’t really get to know the city yesterday we got up at 07:00 today to take a brief walk alongside the shore before breakfast.

We had breakfast included in our stay so after our walk, we returned to the hotel. We also then checked out already but could leave our backpacks at the hotel for a while so we could walk around Brighton some more before catching the train to Cardiff later on.

The more we saw of Brighton the more we were sad to have to leave again so soon. The center of Brighton has a cute pedestrian area which we enjoyed very much. Also, the Brighton Pier is very special.

So at 13:03 we got on a train to Fratton, where we then got on a  Great Western service to Cardiff Central. Although the whole trip took us about as long as from Paris to Brighton yesterday it was much more pleasant today. We traveled in off-peak time so there were very few passengers. The second train, however, was very slow and seemed to stop at every station along its 3-hour route. Finally, at about 6 o’clock we arrived in Cardiff. Our apartment was only a 5 minute’s walk from the station so we got there fairly easily. 20180129_162031(0)

This Airbnb is by far the biggest and most beautiful place we have stayed in on our trip so far. It has plenty of room and a beautiful view on the Principality Stadium. It is located in the city center and we are looking forward to exploring Cardiff tomorrow.

Also, we hope to be able to fly the drone tomorrow!
