The last hotels and apartments are booked, the tickets bought and the passports ready. The launch of the Interrail trip my girlfriend Sarah and I had planned cannot come soon enough. Only a few more days to go until we depart from Basel to Paris and our anticipation is huge!
In fact, we’re looking forward to our adventure so much, we have already started packing. We each bought a huge Traveller 80+10L travel backpack, so storage space should not be an issue.
For several months now we were working on a plan to journey through Europe. We had numerous ideas where our Interrail should take us. Spain? Italy? Scandinavia? Eventually, we came up with a route which would lead through the UK and Ireland to Amsterdam, Hamburg, Granz (Austria) and back home.

What is Interrail?
An Interrail Pass is a ticket for most trains in one or more European countries. There are different variants of the pass and the purchase is a flat rate paid. However, for certain routes such as the Eurostar from Paris to London an additional charge must be paid.
